Generally speaking, the standard thickness of front brake discs of common passenger cars is around 32 mm, and the standard thickness of rear brake discs is around 28 mm, but this is only a general range. For example, the Volkswagen Ranger has a new front brake disc with a thickness of 25 mm and a minimum safe thickness of 18 mm; the Toyota Corolla has a standard front brake disc thickness of about 32 mm and a standard rear brake disc thickness of about 28 mm; the Honda Civic has a new front brake disc with a thickness of 26 mm and a minimum safe thickness of 19 mm. Among the luxury brands, BMW installs different thicknesses of brake discs for different models, including 22 mm, 24 mm, 26 mm, 30 mm, etc. The usable thickness of brake discs for general models is only 2.4 mm, and for M models or some models with perforated discs, the usable thickness is only 1.6 mm.
