How often are passenger car brake discs replaced?

Driving habits: vehicles with frequent hard braking, frequent braking or heavy loads will have faster brake disc wear and shorter replacement intervals; vehicles with smooth driving will have slower brake disc wear and may have longer mileage.
There is no fixed replacement cycle for passenger car brake discs, usually between 60,000 - 100,000 kilometers, but will be affected by a variety of factors:
Driving habits: vehicles with frequent hard braking, frequent braking or heavy loads will have faster brake disc wear and shorter replacement intervals; vehicles with smooth driving will have slower brake disc wear and may have longer mileage.
Road conditions: often in the mountains, congested roads, gravel roads or bumpy roads and other poor road conditions, frequent use of brakes, and easy to have a foreign body damage to the brake discs, will accelerate the wear and tear, need to be replaced in advance; more in the highway and other good road conditions, the brake discs wear is relatively small.
Vehicle type: There are differences in the design of the brake system and the material of the brake discs in different models. High-performance cars or large cars with large brake loads may have a shorter replacement cycle for the brake discs.
Brake disc material: High-quality material brake discs have good abrasion resistance and long service life; brake discs made of poorer materials will wear faster.
In addition, there are also some ways to determine whether the brake disc needs to be replaced:
Observe the thickness of the brake disc: use calipers to measure, if the thickness of the brake disc is close to or below the minimum thickness specified by the manufacturer, it should be replaced in time. General front brake disc thickness standard is about 32mm, wear limit thickness is about 29mm; rear brake disc thickness standard is about 28mm, wear limit thickness is about 25mm.
Check the surface of the brake disc: if there are obvious cracks, grooves or unevenness on the surface, it means that the wear is serious and needs to be replaced.
Listen to the sound of braking: if there is abnormal metal friction or sharp sound when braking, the brake disc may be unevenly worn or damaged.
Feel the braking effect: the brake pedal stroke becomes longer, the braking effect becomes softer or the brakes shake and other abnormalities, may need to replace the brake disc.
For driving safety, it is recommended that the brake system be inspected every 10,000 - 20,000 kilometers, including the thickness and surface condition of the brake discs.
